Pro Tags Are Here: No GS1? No Problem.

We’re excited to introduce Pro Tags - a new type of Product Definition in RFIDLinked designed to make printing and managing RFID tags even easier.

Until now, RFIDLinked supported SGTIN-96 encoded tags, ideal for retail and supply chain environments that require GS1 compliance. But for many organizations managing inventory, assets, or tools internally, SGTIN-96 can feel overly complex - and requires GS1 licensed identifiers to get started.

Pro Tags is here to solve that.

What Are Pro Tags?

Pro Tags use an encoding format developed by the RFIDLinked team. Instead of relying on GS1 identifiers, Pro Tags give you a lightweight, efficient way to generate fully encoded RFID tags - no external registration required.

You still get:

  • Fully encoded and serialized RFID tags

  • Support for assigning additional product data to your tags

  • Seamless integration with label printing, scanning, and auditing features in RFIDLinked

But without:

  • GS1 fees or company prefix setup

  • Complex encoding logic

  • External dependencies

Who Are Pro Tags For?

Pro Tags are designed for closed-loop environments, this makes them perfect for:

  • Internal warehousing

  • Inventory management

  • Tool and equipment tracking

  • Field services or maintenance programs

  • Prototyping or sample labeling

How to Get Started

Creating a Pro Tag is simple. When setting up a new Product Definition, just choose Pro Tag as the type. From there, the workflow is exactly the same - define your fields, design your label, and print.

If you’ve been waiting for a simpler, more flexible way to print RFID tags, Pro Tags are the solution. Available now in the latest version of RFIDLinked.

As always, we’re here to help you make the most of RFIDLinked. If you have any questions or want to explore how Pro Tags can support your workflow, reach out to our team any time.
